Manual Transmission

Many vehicles with transmission problems don’t need a new one.
Why pay for one when you don’t need it?

Common standard transmission problems:

  • Clutch falls to the floor
  • Clutch feels loose or spongy
  • Difficulty shifting gears
  • Grinding noises
  • Hard to get into gear or reverse
  • Jumping out of gear
  • Leaking fluid
  • Noises in neutral
  • Pedal vibrations, chattering, or pulsating
  • Squealing or growling with clutch pedal engagement
  • Stiff and hard to push clutch
  • Stuck in one gear
  • Vehicle starts slowly even though the engine is racing

The transmission is the component of the vehicle that provides controlled application of power supplied by the engine. The transmission reduces the higher engine speed to the slower wheel speed, increasing the torque in the process. Transmissions have multiple gear ratios or gears with the ability to switch between them as speed varies.

Stick shifts are complex. When problems arise, it takes a fair amount of expertise to diagnose the fault.

Leave that to the experts.

Transmission Diagnosis

An experienced transmission technician properly evaluates the root cause of the problem. He has thorough knowledge of how transmissions operate, and cross-references technical information in service bulletins, repair manuals, and technical repair services.
